Exercise Balls For The Office Chair
If you’re well over six feet tall a 65cm stability ball is the most common exercise ball to work out to unless of course that stability ball is your new office chair. Then you might opt for a 75cm model. Of course you can deflate it or pump more air into the ball to get your maximum comfort level. Maybe the best part of using a stability ball outside of the gym and into the office setting is in regards to core strength and posture. Sitting on a ball in front of a computer will be less stressful on your back and shoulder muscles than it would sitting on a chair. One of the advantages of sitting on a ball is you become aware of your balance or your lack of it.
By engaging your abdominal muscles you start to gain core strength. While sitting comfortably in a more natural position you get less strain on your lower back. By keeping the lower back muscles aligned properly along with a stronger core you will find a greater improvement in your posture.
Now an exercise ball placed in lieu of an office chair maybe a bit getting used too. Not by you but by your fellow workers. It does look unconventional to say the least but what would you rather be faced with, sore achy back muscles? You may find your work productivity jump a little as well.
